Yeast infection is one of the most common infections that humans acquire. This is due to a fungi called yeast or scientifically termed as Candida. Its infection is called Candidiasis. Yeast infections are common to both male and female. The female infection is called Vanginitis. Symptoms of a yeast infection are characterized by swelling, itchiness, and pain in the affected area. The condition is due to the rapid growth of the yeast contained in our bodies. This is most likely due to some contributors like sugar and low immunity.
Yeast is a fungus that lives in our bodies. There are about 20 species of this fungus that exists and the most common one is Candida Albicans. There are various types of home remedies for yeast infections. These are commonly triggered due to high sugar intake which could feed the yeast and aid its growth; low immune system which results to weaker bodies; drinking antibiotics that could kill the bacteria that fights the yeast in our bodies; sexual contact with a person having a yeast infection in the vagina or penis; poor nutrition; and having HIV virus or AIDS in one’s body.
Candidal infections or yeast infections commonly occur in warm, dark, and moist areas in our bodies like the underarms, scrotum, penis, vagina, breasts, mouth, and folds of the skin of the abdomen of obese persons. There are similarities in symptoms of a yeast infection between men and women. These include swelling and reddening of the affected part, pain in the affected area, and itchiness. But there are also some symptoms that only occur to women or men. Like for example, yeast infections on women’s vagina could lead them to discharge thick, odorless, and white colored liquid from their vagina.
